Its back to work for me tomorrow. Ouch. The month has both flown by yet also seems quite timeless. Going to the hospital back on July 5th (Ella is now a month old!) for the inducing seems like a different life. I’m very glad I took the extra time away – I hope it pays off in retaining sanity in the coming week!
The stats for the 1st month:
- Really bad nights: 2 (Tamara may feel this number is higher.. )
- Really bad diapers: 3 (One or two of those was at least a two person job)
- Really bad crying jags:6
- Number of stairs descended in attempt to soothe child: Unfathomable, easily over a thousand.
- Number of really great chilled out moments of bliss: Tons, lost count, which brings an important perspective to the other numbers.
The last weekend has been really great, supported by the best weather London has had in a year. Or at least it feels that way. We made it to our antenatal group reunion in London Fields on Saturday for a picnic and a chance to check out all the babies and everyone has the same silly grin we’ve spotted in the mirror — here’s a link to some photos if you are interested.
Sunday has been a proper day of rest, except for a successful breakfast out at Diner this morning with our bundle sleeping through the whole thing. Long may that continue.
Time for bed — tomorrow already feels like its looming. Check back during the week, I’ve got a few new expressions captured in bytes and will flickr them shortly.
