Apologies for not getting this post up earlier – my hosting company had some issues with my particular server1.
We’ve been remarkably busy over the past couple of months, and once you go a week without updating the blog it becomes a daunting task to capture ever increasing events with the nuanced details and wit that you’ve all come to expect. The days go by, there is more to mention and the site tagline begins to taunt me. Luckily, there I have a weapon with which to strike back — my sleep-deprived, ever worsening memory! It allows me to gloss over the past 2 months thusly (see below), without a hint of regret. In fact, I’m already patting myself on the back.
So, as you can see from some of the recent photos2, Ella has grown quite a bit and lots has changed. She has discovered a few things, like :
* A love of birds even if they don’t fly all that much.
* A taste for giraffe.
* And her feet.
There was also a grammy visit, which was a great treat; we enjoyed the company (and the occasional break) and I think Ella was thrilled with the extra attention. Grammy seemed to enjoy it too
. T and Grammy scoured east London, taking every bus known, I think. Ella visited the Tate Modern3, Columbia Road Flower Market, Broadway Market and London Fields and the British Museum. Quite the cultural tour, I say.
I got to tag along to a trip to Victoria Park4 which was fantastic although the closed kitchen at the pub at the end of the walk was not. Hint to anyone heading to the Royal Inn on the Park, get there early for Sunday lunch. The kitchen claims that its closes at “4ish” which means 2:30pm, apparently. Still, a great day out.
Other tidbits of activity — we had our 1st family photoshoot with our official photographer. I think it went better than anyone expected, although we haven’t seen all the results yet (cough, cough) we are looking forward to them. Just not holding our breath. Much.5
There were probably lots of other things that went on that were wonderful and worth recounting, don’t feel hurt if you participated and I’ve neglected you. If you like, I can call you next time Ella wakes me up in the middle of the night and we can chat about it and make the next post. Just let me know…
- When I say my, I mean the server I share with who knows how many others. The ad revenues from The Father ‘Hood don’t have me on the top hosting plan. Yet. [↩]
- All available at http://www.flickr.com/photos/byronandtamara/ [↩]
- Twice [↩]
- There is a Wikipedia entry for it too. [↩]
- This is an attempt to mildly guilt trip said photographer if he’s reading, in case it wasn’t painfully obvious. I really do like the picture I’ve seen though! [↩]
